ABOUT US
The Fois olive farm was founded in 1890 in the countryside surrounding Alghero, in the north-west of Sardinia, an ideal environment for olive growing thanks to its temperate climate mitigated by the proximity of the sea.

Dedication and passion
Today, the farm is run with dedication and passion by Giuseppe Fois and his family, who follow step by step all the processing phases, from the cultivation of the olives to their pressing into quality extra virgin olive oil.
The olive farm currently comprises an area of approximately 230 hectares of olive groves with about 25,000 olive trees, mainly of the Bosana cultivar that have been also integrated with other cultivars, both native and national, with the aim of improving and enriching the organoleptic and qualitative characteristics of the oil range.

The production and marketing of the oils is carried out by the Accademia Olearia company, owned by the Fois family, in a modern plant of over 4,000 square metres employing some of the most modern and innovative extraction methods in order to guarantee high quality products while at the same time preserving the raw material integrity.
The processing plant was built with particular attention towards safeguarding the environment by employing alternative energy sources such as solar panels for electricity and the olive (pit) processing waste to produce hot water for heating.
Currently, Accademia Olearia is the production leader of certified “Sardinia DOP” Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the island, a unique mark of Sardinian excellence.
